The Wing Thing: Woodland birds
Do you think you have ever seen a Swift Parrot in the wild?
You may have seen one without even realizing it because Swifties are mostly green and hide among the leaves of eucalypt trees that they feed from. They have some very special splashes of colour though and have a very different call to other parrots. You would be very lucky if you did see some since there are only 1,000 pairs left in the wild.
In The Wing Thing you can learn about Swifties and some of their unique ways of existing (these parrots make one of the longest migrations of any parrot in the world!), other woodland birds and how you can look out for them.
We have a range of Education Resources developed by The Gould League for Year Levels 3-8.
